SILVUS CONNECTU - MARCH 2024

In mid March 2024 the team had the opportunity to join the Silvus Technologies Public Safety Team in a great training event in Virginia, USA. The Silvus ConnectU training was an excellent opportunity for us to meet US Law Enforcement and Public Safety users and develop an understanding of how they operate. The Law Enforcement and Public Safety markets are new to us and the breadth of use cases was extremely interesting. We took plenty of insight away that will also be relevant in the UK, particularly how MANET radios can interoperate with P25 / TETRA type networks.

The scenario based training was a brilliant way to test and integrate equipment from a wide range of companies, demonstrating what can be achieved through innovation and collaboration. We managed to test our prototype S&C band bodyworn antenna with some interesting results (more to follow in a couple of months). The OMEGA-ONE range was tested in a quick deployment role, performing very well as part of a rebroadcast node. The smaller OMEGA panels were also tested with some of the robots used in the scenarios, special thanks to FLYMOTION for testing with their Boston Dynamics Spot robot and we are looking forward to seeing the results!
