Research and Development

The team at Far Field Exploits have a unique blend of engineering and user experience within the Defence and Security sector. We focus on what the user requires to fully understand the issue before using our depth of engineering knowledge to apply innovative processes to identify an R&D pathway.

Our Microelectronics and RF laboratory enables us to carry out the majority of prototyping and testing in house. As a result we have a proven R&D track record, successfully completing projects in the UK (DASA, R-Cloud) and the US (SOFWERX) as well as bespoke packages for other companies in the Defence and Security sector. We are registered on multiple frameworks in the UK and have access to international projects through our reseller network. Our current focus area is the adaptation of wireless technology for Defence and security purposes

R&D EXAMPLE PROJECTS

ANTENNA OPTIMISATION

A Defence and Security company requested assistance to determine the optimum location of multiple antennas on a small surface area. The study involved recording the SNR across each antenna in different configurations, reporting the optimum orientation and recommending component changes to enhance performance.

PROJECT CELANEM

A DASA emerging innovation project to deliver a proof of concept wireless link for airborne systems to enable the rapid integration of equipment for air platforms and UAVs.

PROJECT TACHRON

A DASA themed project supporting Bright Corvus to assess the feasibility of the wireless time synchronisation of RF sensors.
