MANPACK ANTENNA RANGE
The SIGMA antenna range was released in 2023 after a two year development cycle. Each antenna has been optimised for a specific frequency range to closely match those frequencies provided by the major MANET radio manufacturers.
The antenna has been specifically designed to integrate into the MOLLE of a tactical vest or load carriage equipment. The antenna has an omnidirectional pattern which provides all around coverage, and unlike many antennas it continues to enable good communications even when the wearer is in the prone position.
Each SIGMA antenna is available with a variety of camouflage patterns, load carriage integration and connectors.

RECENT FEEDBACK
This is a quick and easy win for us. Traditional tactical radio antennas snag on equipment, interfere with line of sight, and create a sizeable visual profile of the soldier, making them an easier target. Many soldiers fold the antennas or remote them to their back to reduce signature and interference with their primary mission tasks, but these “fixes” significantly reduce antenna performance.
The SIGMA-ONE antennas work with the dismounted soldier kit in a way that does not impede their movement, create snag hazards, or reduce antenna performance.

The SIGMA TWO antennas were worn in a plate carrier configuration for 96 hours during a field and live fire exercise involving other Silvus-enabled ground and airborne UAS stations. While using these antennas, there were no issues with the use of other body-worn kit, no cable snags, and no issues shouldering and operating a service rifle. Pack straps and rifle slings did not interfere with the antennas and did not cause any notable interruptions in signal. Anecdotally, the SIGMA TWO antennas seemed to maintain a better and more responsive connection with a UAS at 3500 feet than others using OEM antennas in the same situation.
They are my choice for a body-worn antenna, especially in this application. The form factor alone alleviates a number of typical concerns when integrating communications kit into body armor and load carriage gear. The reduction in sensitive connectors and fragile antennas normally found in relocation kits and other body-worn solutions is a significant improvement. The apparent benefit of increased omni-directional performance is another plus compared to the effects of blocking observed by the OEM antennas.

Far Field Exploits provided antennas for an evaluation in Europe; as part of a multi-phase VIP demonstration a pathfinder freefalled in wearing dual SIGMA-ONE antennas connected to a DTC 6161 Sentry Mesh radio, streaming X264 video over mesh from a MOHOC helmet camera to an HQ on the ground. After hitting the DZ the pathfinders progressed directly into a CQB demonstration, still streaming video to multiple mesh nodes. The antennas were ideally suited to the complex and challenging 3D demonstration that required uninterrupted communication moving through different axes.

COVERT BODYWORN ANTENNA RANGE
Far Field Exploits have been developing bespoke bodyworn antennas for covert use cases since 2019. The original ALPHA antenna series was designed to use the body to tune the antenna into the frequency range. The SIGMA range was developed to be wideband and resilient to the impact of the body. The antenna is most effective when worn over the shoulder in a harness, vest or in between clothing layers. The SIGMA antenna has passed UK SAR testing as part of a system with a specific radio, details are available upon request.
Some scenarios require a smaller antenna or a different form factor. The OMEGA-TWO small panel antenna is designed for those use cases. The antenna is more prone to body blocking but can be easily concealed in a pocket if the situation requires it.

CONCEALED VEHICLE ANTENNA RANGE
The OMEGA panel antenna range has been developed to be quickly concealed inside a vehicle for situations where a fixed installation is not possible. The antennas can be installed in a number of locations within the vehicle, depending on the tactical situation and amount of time available.
The antennas have been tested for use with 20W radios, passing SAR testing for a safe deployment in close proximity to the driver and passenger.
